It’s been hard for me to post anything new for the past few months, as my Mum passed away in June.
.
My mother was a kind, caring, intelligent, beautiful woman. Among her many traits “playful” was not one I would regularly attribute to her. However, this is one of my favourite photos that I ever took of her. She came in from the garden one summers day, after trimming her sweetpea, sat down for a break, and put the crown on. As I raised the camera, she posed for me like this. No asking on my behalf, just something she did. I loved that she did and I loved that as I took the photo, she rose to the occasion, as she did most things in her life. She was a woman who tolerated stupidity poorly, but she knew how to laugh. And on this 11th November and remembrance day, I can think of no better photo of her to post.
